• The guiding principles of successful negotiation
• Understanding the negotiation concepts: ZOPA (Zone of Possible Agreement) and BATNA (Best Alternative to a Negotiated Agreement)
• The 5 stages of successful negotiations
Practical exercise: Equipping yourself to achieve win/win outcomes from negotiation

Influencing through Problem Solving
• Applying a range of problem solving methods to achieve a desirable outcome
• Exploring practical problem solving models
Practical exercise: Adapting the models to a wide range of day-to-day situations

Building a Network Map
• Developing key attributes to increase your sphere of influence
• Visibility: the extent to which you are known by people with influence within the organisation
• Credibility: the extent to which you are respected by others for your thoughts, behaviour and contribution
• Networks: the extent to which you have a network of contacts which provides information and channels of influence
