Effective Project Stakeholder Management

A project is only a success when key stakeholders agree that it is so. On time, to cost and to agreed quality standards means to the time, cost and standards agreed (and often renegotiated during the project) with stakeholders. Effective management of relationships with stakeholders is critical to project success.

At this highly practical and interactive training course you will learn how effectively manage the client that changes their mind during the project, and get results from the sub contractor who says they will, but doesn’t. Through effective management of key stakeholders you can reduce losses from cost overruns, manage risk more effectively and be more certain of client satisfaction at the end of the project.

Defining Approaches to Communication
• How do you deliver bad news?
• Whether to consult or to inform?
• What process should be used?
• Looking at interpersonal relationships, understanding why people who experience the same thing feel differently about them
• Learning how communication must be judged by the outcome and not the message
• Developing a personal strategy to improve communications

Building and Maintaining Relationships
• Looking into the nature of groups and assessing the meaning and importance of the group dynamic
• Examining the factors which influence the group cohesiveness and group performance
• Building up a personal profile that can be used to determine the best methods of achieving productive relationships
• Looking at all aspects of relationships both within and outside the sphere of the project 

Conflict Resolution
• Analysing the nature of role relationships and role conflict within a Stakeholder group
• Looking at possible solutions and how to implement them
• Confident negotiating and successful resolution of conflicts using Gleicher’s change equation, in conjunction with Logic analysis and the Four Keys performance model
